Self sufficiency and sustainability in Fawkner, Melbourne, Australia, and beyond!

Back again!

on October 10, 2012

After a month or so absence from the blog,  we are back with another update.

The front growing space has been expanded once again,   we decided that 2 beds out the front was not enough so another 2 have been added (with plans for 2 more).

For the past month we have been concerned that nothing was actually growing,  but finally we have the beginning of the following.

Moon and star watermelons

Zucchini – tromboncino and three colour mix

Sweet and striped, and lebanese mini muncher cucumbers

Borlotti beans

St Valery, purple dragon, and heirloom carrots

Perpetual spinach

Also,  in seedling form it’s exciting to see we have a multitude of tomatos,  artichokes,  chilli, strawberries, and leeks (varieties will be listed in another post)!  These will be planted this weekend.
